Abstract

We present preliminary measurements and a functional description of an angle alignment and piston sensor currently under development which is based on the technology of external cavity diode lasers.1-3 If successful, the sensor package will be capable of simultaneously monitoring submicroradian angular deviations and absolute distances to interferometric accuracies using cavity lengths of 1-10 m.
