Traveling-wave laser amplifiers for broadband analog video lightwave systems

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

GaInAsP traveling-wave laser amplifiers have been made by a new method, a combination of angled facets and antireflection coatings. Using two cascade stages with alternating in-line amplifiers and 16 × 16 star couplers in the analog lightwave system, we demonstrated ninety-channel FM video distributions to as many as 2048 terminals.
