Abstract

Many applications of phased array semiconductor lasers require a stable nearly diffraction-limited beam. However, most of the designs lead to excitation of higher-order supermodes and associated twin-lobed far fields, and even when a single lobe is obtained it is usually wider than the diffraction limit.
