Abstract

The highest cw power reported to date for a laser diode is 5.4 W from a multistripe array with a 1-mm total active aperture width.1 Such power levels are useful for pumping neodymiurm:ttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) lasers, for example.2 We report cw operation up to 12.5 W from a 1-cm monolithic bar of laser diode arrays.
