Stellar scintillation technique for the measurement of tilt anisoplanatism

Abstract

The significance of isoplanatism for optical systems operating within the atmosphere is discussed. The anisoplanatic tilt error θ0 is shown to be an important parameter for adaptive optical systems which only correct for angle-of-arrival fluctuations.
