Device for the treatment of hyperpigmented skin lesions: theory, characteristics, and clinical uses

Abstract

Laser beams have been used to treat hyperpigmented skin lesions. However, the output intensity is circular with a Gaussian distribution, which makes it difficult to apply a uniformly distributed dose to the nevus and seriously reduces the effectiveness of treatment. We have invented a device whereby uniform output intensity is obtained, resulting in a high level of therapeutic efficacy.
