Abstract
Indirect pulsed laser heating of highly defined areas using so-called laser probes is becoming Increasingly popular with a variety of industrial and medical applications.1–3 In principle, by avoiding a direct interaction between a laser beam and the to be heated medium a more predictable, controlled, and uniform thermal delivery of laser energy is achieved.
