Abstract
Magnesium-doped lithium niobate has been shown to be persistent to substantially higher optical power1 than undoped material. It is, therefore, expected to be favorable as substrate material for titanium-diffused waveguides used for frequency conversion. It has been reported that the titanium diffusivity is different in doped and undoped material.2,3 Available information on diffusion properties is, however, limited and partly contradictory, and to our knowledge there are no diffusion data published for channel guides.
