Abstract

CO2 laser radar has been recognized by the DOD community as a potential candidate to be developed into a multifunctional active sensor for both tactical and strategic applications. One of the most critical components for such a multifunctional is the coherent CO2 laser source. This paper describes the detailed characterization of a 10-W FM CO2 laser transmitter.
