Abstract

The steady-state gain coefficient times length gl and the gain coefficient times length for 1-pJ/cm3 absorbed energy have been calculated for two- beam coupling as a function of angle between the beams and angle to the c axis In BaTi03. These results can be used to understand the occurrence of processes such as fanning1 and backward photorefractive scattering2 and in addition are useful for determining conditions of optimum sensitivity for beam combining and amplification.
