Abstract

In recent years, phase-locked arrays of diode lasers have attracted much interest because of their high output power and stable coherent operation. The highest power reported previously1 was 2.6 W/facet (cw). With a large-optical-cavity structure, we achieved 6-W/facet coherent output power, with a 500-ns pulse width and 3-kC repetition.
