Abstract
Leading Japanese computer and consumer product companies have been engaging in development of optical data storage devices over the past two decades. This effort is reaching fruition, with the optical videodisk and audiodisk in mass production on the one hand and documentation filing system for data storage in quantity delivery on the other. Their Impressive recent progress and future promises in this technology will be reviewed in this paper.
