Abstract

Dielectric multilayer thin-film filters are used in optical multiplexers/demultiplexers for WDM transmission systems. In such systems, the requirements for filter performance are strict with respect to bandwidth and transmittances in passband and rejection bands.1 In addition, high stability of performance is required, because the spectral response change in multilayer thin-film filters has a significant effect on multiplexer/demultiplexer characteristics.
