Optimization of symmetric zero-gap directional couplers for large switch-array applications

Abstract

Integrated optic switch arrays require development of compact, efficient, easy to fabricate 2×2 switches. This paper describes the optimization of such individual switches from which a large (more than 4×4) array could be formed.
