Abstract

A multivibronic-line rate equation model for predicting gain, fluorescence, absorption, and (B-X) lasing in e-beam pumped XeF media is described. The time dependences of the molecular and electron temperatures as well as the densities of all important species are consistently treated. To describe accurately the complex gain spectrum and facilitate reliable modeling of vibronic transition competition, the spectral dependence of the stimulated emission cross section is calculated from spectroscopic data.
