Abstract
The generation of two-wave sum-frequency waves in optical fibers has recently been reported1 with a pump beam at 1064-nm wavelength emitted from a mode-locked Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. In similar operating conditions, we have observed the generation of the third harmonic wave of the pump wave. Its propagation occurred mainly within the cladding modes of a short-length elliptical core fiber.2
