Multiphoton Ionization studies of the photodissociation of alkyl nitrites

Abstract

The dynamics of the photodissociation of alkyl nitrites have been probed in a one-laser experiment where the alkyl nitrite is first dissociated and the resulting NO is then ionized in a multiphoton transition. Both events take place within the same laser pulse (~7 nsec). The multiphoton ionization (MPI) spectrum is used to elucidate the dynamics of the dissociation event.
