Abstract

We have investigated degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) in a waveguide as demonstrated by Jensen and Hellwarth1 in the visible range to enhance the phase conjugate reflectivity in a saturable absorber (SF6). at 10.6 μm. The first demonstration of DFWM in SF6 was made by Lind and co-workers2 using CO2 TEA laser beams in a gas cell, i.e., the free propagation mode.
