Abstract

The use of laser-enhanced plating to achieve localized maskless patterning has been described in a number of reports. The laser functions in two distinct ways (1) to generate the plating pattern directly by relative movement of the cathode with respect to the laser and (2) to enhance by several orders of magnitude the local plating rates over conventional or background rates.
