Laser applications in cell biology and cancer treatment

Abstract

Laser microsurgery is applied in cell biology by focusing a tunable dye laser beam onto organelles of living cells. Dye lasers are used in the cancer clinic in conjunction with porphyrin sensitization to selectively destroy tumors.
