Abstract

Although we continue to use laser chemistry to obtain a wealth of fundamental information, in terms of applications of lasers in chemical industry, are there opportunities beyond isotope separation? There are few, if any, laser-based processes on the immediate horizon; however, several areas hold promise. Several new directions in laser chemistry at Exxon and elsewhere will be discussed.
