Laser diode noise due to raflection from single-mode optical fibers

Abstract

The laser noise increases significantly due to reflected waves from the discontinuities of an optical transmission line when a laser diode is tightly connected to the transmission line,1,2 and this laser noise is drastically enhanced when the direct modulation is applied.3
