Abstract

This paper presents a new optical waveguide configuration, based on Nb2O5 clad Ti:LiNbO3 guides, which permits second harmonic conversion efficiencies of the order of 5-10% using cw semiconductor laser pumps. Such guides would yield miniaturized solid state hybrid sources providing milliwatt powers throughout most of the visible region (0.5-0.75 µm).
