Abstract
Pulsed lasers with high energy per pulse are useful for Raman spectroscopy in combusting media.1 Dye lasers are particularly attractive because they can be tuned to avoid interference from background luminescence etc. For these reasons, a high-energy stable reliable flashlamp-pumped dye laser has been constructed and installed in the new Combustion Research Facility at Sandia Livermore Laboratories.
