Abstract

There are a number of potential Air Force applications for which optical correlators can provide significant advances in performance (e.g, missile guidance, real time reconnaissance). However, the need for large capacity optical memories, useful in the detection of targets in a terrain environment, is a primary factor limiting their implementation.
