Erasable magnetooptic disk memory with laser diode

Abstract

An experimental digital optical disk recorder has been constructed with a diode laser to perform recording, focusing, reading, and tracking functions. The recording medium consists of a glass disk with amorphous TbFe or GdTbFe magnetic thin films. The design parameters are given In Table I.
