Centralized laser facility for combustion research

Abstract

The Combustion Research Facility at SNL incorporates a novel concept in laser applications. Two large laser systems provide beams for use in any of fourteen combustion laboratories. This arrangement makes cost effective use of expensive state- of-the-art equipment and specially trained personnel, while allowing the combustion scientist to concentrate on the experiment.
