Detecting Ultra-low Light Level Signals with Optical Fiber Probe for Intrinsic Neural Signals in vivo

Abstract

A photodiode in photovoltaic mode was introduced for ultra-low-light-level detection to study brain activity in rats using a miniaturized probe. Studies conducted with simultaneous measurement of 3 wavelengths demonstrated clear optical responses to neuronal activity.
