Monte Carlo Based Correction of Lambert-Beer Algorithm: Early Deoxygenation Changes Measured by Optical Spectroscopy during Whisker Barrel Cortex Activation in Rats

Abstract

Changes in oxygenation following whisker barrel stimulation in rat were calculated from reflected light intensities. After a Monte Carlo based correction of pathlength we found no evidence for a early increase in deoxy-Hb (‘dip’).
