Wavelength choice discrepancies for in vivo near infrared hemoglobin spectroscopy

Abstract

The choice of wavelength pair between 687, 760, 780, and 830 nm gives different measurements of tissue oxygen saturation in muscle. Uncertainties in background absorption and hemoglobin spectra may play a role in these discrepancies.
