Optical spectroscopy for intra-operative guidance of brain tumor resection

Abstract

Human brain tumor demarcation using optical spectroscopy was investigated in vitro as well as in vivo. Results of these studies demonstrate that accurate brain tissue differentiation can be achieved using combined fluorescence and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.
