The effect of radiation on oxygen concentration in metastatic cancer

Abstract

Using a frequency domain NIRS, a metastatic cancer with 20-30% HB02, showed an increase to 50-60% HB02 in a week during the radiation therapy. Acute radiation therapy effects were increased %HB02 as seen both cancer and normal tissues.
