Abstract
Understanding the nature and mechanism of congenital defects of different organ systems in humans has heavily relied on the analysis of the corresponding mutant phenotypes in rodent models. Optical imaging is a powerful approach to study early embryonic development in animal models. Our research is focused on analysis of normal and abnormal embryonic development through optical imaging. By combining OCT, live mouse embryo culture, and mouse models for human disorders, we study functional effects of mutations.
