Abstract

Herein we demonstrate that fluorescence lifetime measurements of DNA-dye SYBR Green I provide significant information for the physicochemical characterization of polymeric vectors/DNA complexes (polyplexes). The relationships among fluorescence amplitude/lifetime, structure and transfection efficiency of polyplexes is identified and discussed.
