Abstract

We present a new imaging reconstruction algorithm based on a global optimization approach for estimating target parameters first and then reconstructing target absorption distributions. Simulation and phantom results have demonstrated a superior performance in accurately mapping target absorption distribution using the new algorithm as compared with that of conjugate-gradient approach.
