High resolution imaging of optical absorption coefficient in multi-centimeter-size turbid media using combined photoacoustic and diffusing light measurements

Abstract

We introduce a method that can provide high resolution images of absolute optical absorption coefficient from PAT in heterogeneous turbid media. In this method, acoustic measurements in PAT are combined with DOT measurements to separate the product of absorption coefficient and photon density.
