Phosphorescence and Fluorescence Measurements of Human Tissues Using UV LED Excitation

Abstract

Using UV LED excitation, fluorescence and phosphorescence measurements were performed on normal and malignant breast tissues. Cancerous tissues demonstrated a weaker ratio of phosphorescence to fluorescence intensity compared to normal glandular and adipose tissue.
