Abstract

We report azimuthal light scattering spectroscopy (ø/LSS), a novel technique for assessing epithelial-cell nuclear morphology. The feasibility of detecting cancer using ø/LSS is demonstrated by measuring ø/LSS spectra from normal and cancerous human colonic mucosa.
