Towards fluorescence mediated laser scanning mammography: phantom experiments and contrast mechanisms

Abstract

We investigated the influence of dye concentration on contrast in imaging experiments on fluorescent breast-like phantoms. We discuss the reversal of fluorescence contrast at higher dye concentrations due to re-absorption of fluorescence light.
