Use of Genetic Algorithms to Optimize Fiber Optic Probe Design for the Extraction of Tissue Optical Properties

Abstract

An approach for optimizing the probe geometry for extracting optical properties is developed. It was found that optical properties could be extracted with accuracies of better than 0.5 cm−1, while requiring no a priori assumptions.
