Neurovascular Coupling in the Rat Somatosensory Cortex: a Non-Invasive Diffuse Optical Imaging and Electroencephalography Study

Abstract

In this work we investigated the relationship between electrical and hemodynamic responses relating to neuronal activation. To this aim diffuse optical imaging and electroencephalography were recorded simultaneously and non-invasively on rats during parametric electrical forepaw stimulation.
