Abstract

An experimental validation of a fitting procedure for retrieving the optical properties of layered media based on multidistance time-resolved reflectance measurements is presented. The results are in a wide range of optical properties and show an excellent effectiveness and reliability of the procedure to reconstruct the optical properties of a twolayered medium from experimental data. The optical properties of the first layer and the absorption of the second layer are retrieved with excellent precision, whilst the reduced scattering coefficient of the second layer is reconstructed with a large error. The first layer thickness is retrieved with an error less than 50%.
