Abstract

Time resolved fluorescence imaging has been applied to DNA-microarray expression profiling. Discrimination between two fluorescent labels is performed on the basis of their lifetimes. Quantification of the relative amount of each marker is inferred from the relative fluorescence amplitude. Measurements on test DNA microarrays reveal that the temporal domain is a valid alternative to the spectral one.
