Abstract

Waste breast tissue from mastectomies was imaged using near infra-red reflectance confocal microscopy. Morphologic and cellular features of normal and cancerous tissues were identified in the confocal images. Confocal images were compared to standard histologically-prepared sections of the same tissue.
