Abstract

Non-invasive measurements of near-infrared absorption and scattering coefficients reveal important physiologic changes in a rabbit hemorrhagic shock model. Optical coefficient changes correlate with changes in hematocrit, venous blood gasses, peripheral vascular resistance, and hemorrhaged blood volume.
