Localisation of absorption changes of layers in a turbid medium by photon time of flight measurements

Abstract

Given an inhomogeneous turbid medium consisting of homogeneous layers of which the optical properties are known, we use an algorithm based on ratios of temporal point spread functions (TPSF) which is able to localise and quantify absorption changes in one or more of the layers.
