Generation of forward Brillouin scattering in phononic-photonic waveguides

Abstract

We present the forward Brillouin scattering in two phononic-photonic waveguides which support the highly confined optical and acoustic modes for the enhanced acousto-optic interaction. The measured Brillouin frequency shift is 50 MHz and 2.425 GHz.
