Orientation instabilities of nanogratings recorded by femtosecond laser pulses in silica

Abstract

Tilt between the orientation of the beam scan direction and nanogratings formed by linearly polarized ultra-short laser pulses was systematically studied in fused silica. The dependence of period of nanogratings on the scanning direction is also observed.
