A new family of single frequency Bragg grating fiber lasers

Abstract

We describe a class of single mode Bragg grating fiber lasers intermediate between DFB and DBR cavities. They possess a number of interesting properties that could be exploited to optimise linewidth, stability and thermo-mechanical coupling in sensor applications.
