Long-period fiber grating inscribed in a tapered fiber

Abstract

A long-period fiber grating (LPFG) written in a tapered fiber was proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Strain sensitivity of the proposed LPFG based on a tapered fiber was improved to be −2.99 nm/mε.
